What do you do for fun?
"I really do enjoy being out with friends and meeting new people, as well. Just for fun. I think it's a lot of fun just getting to know people for who they are and being able to share stories. It's actually very exhilarating and life-giving for me. For fun, I enjoy just being with people."
When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"I really did want to be an NFL player. I think everyone says that they want to be a pro athlete or singer or whatever. They want to do, basically, what their hobby is or whatever they think is fun and they want to do that professionally. Like, get paid to do that. Even now, I think if I would have pushed even to play just college football, I don't think I would regret it. I would still enjoy it because I like playing football. I think that is a testament to a bigger thing: that it's not a bad thing to pursue something that just makes you happy. When you find joy in something, it's so much more valuable than whether it pays a lot or whether it pays a little. That was the first formative process in how I want to pursue the rest of work, life and relationships. Is it bringing me joy? Am I having fun doing it? Is it bringing me happiness?"
How did you meet the most important person in your life?
"That's a loaded question. I don't even know if I can answer that. I think the person that has had the biggest impact on my life is my mom, for sure. I mean, my mom was the one who raised us. My dad was around but my mom was the one who really emotionally raised us. She taught us what it meant to be a Christian. She taught us what it meant to love people and to sacrifice for people. She taught us what it meant to be sons, or I guess men, in a world where the meaning of being a man is so different than what the Bible teaches or what truly being a man is about. So I think being raised by my mom for most of my life has really affected me a lot. I've seen that the role of a man is more than being a financial provider, but to be a person who isn't afraid to be emotional and connect with people on a deeper level. So I would say my mom."
What are you most proud of?
"I don't know if this is weird to say, but I think the friends I've made at Azusa Pacific University because I feel like they're really encouraging. My friends in high school were really great too, but this is just a different type of friendship than I've ever experienced."
What's one of the scariest things you've ever done?
"It would probably be leaving Maryland and flying out to California and just wandering around or spending a day being homeless in India without any resources. One of those."
If you were to write a book, what would it be about about and what would it be called?
"Well, I just made a website and I was trying to figure our what I'm about in general so I names it 'Hacking My Life.' Really that just is an attempt to explain why I want to talk about myself. I feel like that relates to a book because if I was going to write a book, I would want people to hear about it, but it's about me... but I want to help them. It would basically be about me and certain things that I do to grow, adventure and explore in my life and I feel like it would help other people, too. The book would probably be about something like hacking your life and it would be practical, philosophical and a bunch of other -cals. There's be some good stuff in there. That's what I think I would write about."
